Chocolate Orange Brownies with Hidden Surprises!

Wow! These took me 3 times to perfect! Third time lucky and I can tell you they are DELICIOUS!! There are two hidden vegetables and the best part is that no-one will know! Vegan, sugar-free, dairy-free, gluten-free and guilt-free… Sounds too good to be true! I always find vegan baking very intriguing and I love to experiment with ingredients. A flax egg (1 tbsp flax meal + 3 tbsp water) is often used as an egg replacement in vegan baking. The raw chocolate orange frosting compliments perfectly with the rich chocolate brownies. It’s a match made in heaven! I just love how the vegetables are cleverly disguised! Sshhhhh… don’t tell them it’s HEALTHY!!

…Zucchini and Beetroot in Chocolate Brownies? Don’t be silly! I have no idea what you’re talking about! 😉

Just made these for my fiancé’s birthday, alongside vegan enchiladas. Super yum! We topped ours with a sprinkle of bee pollen! Thanks for posting!

    Hi Bernadette,
I’m so happy to hear that you loved them! 🙂 A sprinkle of bee pollen is a great idea! Thanks so much for the lovely comments xx.

    Hi Secret Squirrel,

I love your recipes and already tried so many of them 🙂

Those brownies look incredibly delicious, but is there any substitute for the dates ’cause I don’t have any at home at the moment ?

Thanks in advance! And greetings from Germany!
